Three logs you can audit

We ran our own methods on our own property first. That means we can show you the Search Console exports and the raw AI answers behind every claim below, which is not something a client engagement under NDA lets anyone do.

One headline rewrite moved a city page 45 positions

Challenge

flownomic.ai/utah/salt-lake-city sat at an average Google position of 78.2 — deep on page eight. Search Console showed the page was already surfacing for commercial queries like "salt lake city seo company" and "search engine optimization salt lake city", but its own H1 read "AI Visibility Services in Salt Lake City", a phrase nobody searches. The page was answering a question it was never being asked.

Solution

On 2026-08-03 we front-loaded the H1 with the exact commercial phrase the page was already surfacing for, added an answer-first block under a real buyer question, and routed both prominent calls to action to the tracked booking path. No new backlinks, no new pages, no change to the offer.

Results

  • Page average position 78.2 → 33.0 over four 28-day windows
  • "search engine optimization salt lake city" 80.5 → 27.2
  • "seo salt lake city" (260/mo) entered view and now holds position 33.0 on 150 impressions

The same change on a second city page — including the part that gave ground back

Challenge

flownomic.ai/utah/provo had the identical mismatch: commercial "provo seo" queries landing on a page headlined for AI visibility. We ran the same play on 2026-07-13 to test whether the first result was repeatable or a one-off.

Solution

Identical intervention — exact-match H1, one answer-first question block, tracked booking CTAs. We then logged the page every week, including the weeks it went backwards.

Results

  • Position 48.7 → 29.6 in the first three weeks
  • "search engine optimization services provo" reached position 11.4 on 2026-08-17
  • Then drifted back to 35.4 by 2026-08-31 as the whole query family softened — we publish the down weeks too
AI visibility · our own site

Ten weeks of logged ChatGPT answers, wins and misses

Challenge

"Get cited by AI" is the claim every agency in this category makes and almost none of them measure. We wanted a record of our own visibility that a prospect could audit, rather than a screenshot of a good day.

Solution

Every week since June 2026 we run the same buyer prompt — a Provo service business asking which agency to hire — against ChatGPT with web search on, and record the full answer: who was named, in what format, and which sources the model cited.

Results

  • Flownomic named in 4 of 10 weekly samples — absent in the other 6
  • On 2026-08-31 ChatGPT cited flownomic.ai and flownomic.ai/utah directly in its answer
  • In two samples the model answered with a reviews-ranked business panel we were ineligible for, because we have no Google reviews yet

What does the raw Search Console data look like?

This is the full window-by-window series for the Salt Lake City page, not the best week pulled out of it. Each row is a 28-day Search Console period for flownomic.ai/utah/salt-lake-city, showing the page's average position alongside the two commercial queries it surfaces for most. The only change we shipped was the headline rewrite on 2026-08-03.

28-day window Page position "search engine optimization salt lake city" "salt lake city seo company"
Ending 2026-08-03 (before) 78.2 80.5 86.8
Ending 2026-08-17 40.3 33.4 43.4
Ending 2026-08-24 35.2 28.9 42.2

What haven't we proven yet?

Positions in the twenties and thirties are page three. They are real movement, and they are not yet clicks. The Salt Lake City page moved 45 positions on a single on-page change, which tells you the diagnostic works; it does not yet tell you it produces traffic, because page-three positions rarely do. Getting from there into the top ten takes off-site authority, and that is slower and less certain than anything on this page.

Two more things we would rather you heard from us. Our own Google Business Profile has no reviews yet, and in two of our ten logged ChatGPT samples the model answered with a reviews-ranked business panel that we were therefore ineligible for — the same constraint we would diagnose in your business, sitting in ours. And one page we published in August has still not been fetched by Google after three weeks, which is a reminder that crawl priority on a young domain is a real limit, not a solved problem.

We publish this because the useful version of a results page is one you can check. If an agency shows you only the good weeks, ask for the series — our guide to verifying an SEO agency's results lists the four artifacts a real answer produces. If you want the local version of the trade-off behind the numbers above, on-page vs off-page SEO in Salt Lake City explains why a 45-position move stops where it does, and how to track AI citations covers the sampling method behind our ten-week log.
